Gutter Angled Downspout Clogged

Anytime a downspout is installed at a virtually horizontal level you have a recipe for continued clogged downspouts.

Remove the downspout from the pipe. Remove the downspout from a connecting drain place a garden hose inside the downspout and turn the water on. Remove the screws at the top of the downspout connecting it to the gutter. When you reach the top opening of the downspout ask a helper down below to turn on the water.

Then unscrew the straps attaching the spout to the house. Climb a sturdy ladder with the end of a garden hose in one hand. The downspout is the pipe that runs down the building from the gutter to the underground downpipe. You have to remove the spout to access the downpipe.

If you haven t cleaned your gutters yet do this first finishing with unclogging the downspout.
